29 Αυγούστου 2018 News (EN)

A beautiful group of people from Italy, accompanied by Mr Aldo Pirola, visited the Central Public Library of Veria. Mr. Pirola has worked for more than 40 years in the domain of libraries as Director of the Municipal Libraries of Milan and as a member of International Library Organisations.

An enthusiastic supporter of the role of Libraries and the access to knowledge, he attended with great interest the tour given by the library employee, Mrs. Aspasia Tasiopoulou. The meeting was also attended by Ioannis Trohopoulos, Coordinator of the Athens 2018 World Book Capital, and a member of the Veria Public Library’s Executive Board.

It worths mentioning that during the summer period the Central Public Library of Veria becomes a pole of attraction for both Greeks from different regions of the country and people outside the borders of Greece, as evidenced by the visit of Mr. Pirola. We are particularly happy when the Library’s work is recognized even by experts who live abroad and when the group of friends of the Library grows bigger.
